Bursitis: how to understand the first symptoms. The most effective natural remedies to cure and prevent this ailment.

Bursitis is a painful condition that affects small fluid-filled sacs, which act as a buffer between tendons, ligaments and bones surrounding the joint and other anatomical parts. In practice, the bags (there are 150) act as natural shock absorbers so as to make movement fluid and ensure the protection of the various affected areas, which otherwise would suffer wear and trauma, causing inflammation and pain.

When the aforementioned bags become inflamed, they cause a disorder known as bursitis, a painful and in many cases disabling inflammation. The bags most at risk of inflammation are those present at the shoulder, elbow, knee and hip.

Bursitis, remedies

Those suffering from bursitis, in addition to pain, experience swelling, stiffness and redness of the affected area. At the first symptoms, it is good to contact your doctor to carry out the most appropriate treatments. In the meantime, we want to suggest some simple natural remedies to reduce inflammation and pain without the risk of side effects. Take note!

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the most popular grandmother's remedies for treating bursitis. Thanks to the use of this extraordinary natural ingredient, we can restore the body's alkalinity and thus reduce inflammation more quickly.

The mineral salts contained in it, such as magnesium, calcium, potassium and phosphorus, help reduce the inflammatory processes affecting the joints. Combined with honey, apple cider vinegar is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory

Here's how to proceed

  1. Pour 120 ml of apple cider vinegar and 8 grams of honey into a bowl
  2. Mix the ingredients until you get a homogeneous mixture
  3. Wet a towel in the product obtained and apply it on the affected area for about 20 minutes.

Perform the treatment every evening for at least 10 days

Ice therapy

Ice is especially recommended for reducing initial swelling and reducing pain. Just get a plastic bag and put a dozen ice cubes in it. Once this is done, place the bag on the area to be treated for about 15 minutes. After this time, lift the affected joint and rest
The treatment can be repeated several times during the day

Essential oils

Essential oils also prove to be really effective against bursitis. The most suitable are:

  • Nutmeg oil: thanks to its analgesic and anti-inflammatory action it is indicated to treat joint pain
  • Peppermint essential oil: it should never be missing at home! The main ingredient of this oil is menthol, a substance used since ancient times to treat pain and inflammation.
  • Coconut oil: thanks to its therapeutic properties, coconut oil helps reduce redness and the burning sensation.

To soothe the pain just apply a few drops of oil to the painful area and massage with circular movements

Ginger has truly extraordinary therapeutic properties. Thanks to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and analgesic action, ginger improves circulation, a necessary condition in case of bursitis

To take advantage of the benefits of this root, just wrap 10 grams of grated ginger in a piece of gauze. Soak the ginger cheesecloth in a cup of hot water for about 4 minutes. Allow to cool a little before applying the gauze. Leave on for about 20 minutes. Repeat the treatment morning and evening for at least 10 days

Adequate rest and correct posture are essential to relieve the symptoms of bursitis. Along with the treatment that will be prescribed, you must try to minimize joint movements.
Bursitis is triggered as a result of overloading or perhaps rubbing of the joints with the muscles near the serous bursa, therefore, moving the inflamed joint too much will only make the situation worse!

In addition to rest, nutrition must also be taken care of; must be rich in magnesium, which is very important for the health of the joints, muscles and ligaments. Magnesium can be found in bananas, spinach, oats, lentils.

PLEASE NOTE: the aforementioned remedies must in no way replace the intervention of the doctor. Bursitis is a pathology that absolutely must not be neglected!
